Start Where I Am: Part II

I loved teaching world history and geography and our local Texas history to middle schoolers! I could be so creative, and they ate it up. Then I got the opportunity to go to Harvard Graduate School of Education, and I couldn’t pass it up. Thus began the three most stimulating and intellectually challenging years of my life. Nothing since has even come close. I studied Human Development and Psychology with Howard Gardner, Bob LeVine, Kurt Fischer, and Carol Gilligan, among others. I worked at the center for Russian Studies and the World Affairs Council while I was there, and interacted with people from all over the world as a resident tutor at Quincy House. When I finished my course work, my husband and I settled in Austin, Texas, and we’ve been here ever since.
I should mention that my husband is an archeologist, also with a Ph.D. from Harvard. So I’ve been living with one foot in that world for about 30 years now, attending conferences and workshops and field schools, visiting sites, reading, and listening to deep discussions about the ancient past.
For a while I taught in the College of Education at UT Austin, then took a three-year break to recover from the stress. For the past four years I’ve been earning a living at the state agency for education, travelling the state as an inspector for various programs. But I still have this nagging voice urging me to look at people of the past.
So, I’m ready! I feel like I’m going to be released to be the real me (whatever that is at the moment). And I have a plan, which I will write about next time.
Massive New Archaeological Collections Database Released for Scholars and Public
For 125 years, the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology has been connected to some of the greatest archaeological excavations known to history, sending more than 400 archaeological and anthropological expeditions to every inhabited continent of the world. At its official founding on December 6, 1887, the University Trustees resolved to send an exploring expedition to Babylonia, with a provision to establish suitable accommodations for the artifacts recovered, including those of subsequent expeditions. Since then, Museum collections have grown to about one million artifacts from six continents and every millennium of human history.
Now, the Penn Museum celebrates its 125th anniversary year by placing an arguably incomparable collection of ancient artifacts online for the world to see. The Penn Museum Online Collections Database is designed as a utility for scholars to obtain preliminary information on artifacts for research purposes, for teachers and students to explore a regions cultural materials, and for any person who wishes to electronically organize and file their own set of favorite finds and share them with others.
Interested individuals may view the database online by going to http://www.penn.museum/collections/.
The Black Box (2010), by K. V. Johansen

This review was first published in Resource Links Magazine, Canada’s national journal devoted to the review and evaluation of Canadian English and French resources for children and young adults. It appears in volume 16.3.
The Black Box
There is something about K. V. Johansens writing that grips me and pulls me in. The Cassandra Virus novels are written for a younger readership than her Warlocks of Talverdin series, and focused more on plot than character, but they captivate in a similar way after reading what I though was merely an interesting but not profound novel, I found myself thinking of the story and characters for days afterwards. This revelation requires a far more in-depth analysis; suffice it at this juncture to say that The Black Box is surprising in more than just plot. And the plot is good.
Best friends Jordan and Helen, the two Igors, as they call themselves, are the precocious children of scientists: Helens mom is head of a university Computer Science department, and Jordans parents are archeologists, while his sister works in AI for the government. The Cassandra of the title is a sentient AI that Jordan has developed, an AI that has become the childrens friend, but creates a sufficient sense of the uncanny to keep at least this adult reader wondering where Cassandras continually developing mental abilities will lead the plot. When the two discover a strange black stone in their uncles archeological dig (yes, he shares in the family obsession), strange things begin to happen around town. Significantly, electronic signals fail: as the cover says: phones don’t work. Theres no radio, no TV. No internet. For the child reader today, the disconnectednessthe horrorof this situation will resonate. To make matters worse, strangers posing as bird watchers are snooping around. With the help of two teenagers from the local historical reenactment society, Jordan and Helen (and Cassandra when she is online) help solve the mystery of the black box, the mysterious object that cannot be fully understood without destroying it.
Johansen has again constructed a cleverly woven tale, with no loose ends or inconsistencies. Her characters are interesting and true to life; Jordan and Helen are just reaching that age when the whole boy-girl thing (11) begins to surface, but their focus remains on friendship and science, something many middle-school readers will identify with fully.
The first two books in the series are The Cassandra Virus (2006) and The Drone War (2007).
Philosophy, Politics, and Religion: The U.S. Government thinks you are a fool

The two things that we are told not to speak of are politics and religion. Yet it is those two topics that affect virtually every endeavor of human thought. If you want to know who the villains are in our society look at those who tell us not to speak of these things, and you will see your enemy. Those who advocate not speaking of politics and religion are those who are attempting to maintain a monopoly on thought, and seek to be the rulers of your life. For myself, I question everything, and am in love with nothing but the idea of being left to my own devices. So the social mechanisms of the human race are all up for revision. Nothing is sacred if it is not producing the very exceptional at the maximum capacity capable by the human mind.
The current philosophy of America, the one that has been infected with socialism, does not work for the majority of the population. It is an unmitigated failure virtually beyond measure. In fact, the examination of the ineptitude that our current American philosophy is pursuing is so grand that most people just tune it out and leave the matter of adjustment to the very thieves who have perpetuated the candor to the lowest in our societythe politician. To understand just how serious these politicians have infected American society with a philosophy of looting which serves nobody but themselves watch carefully this video which will spell out the situation wonderfully for your inquisitive mind.

At this site there are many radio recordings and videos which show that a majority of the public servants currently serving the United States citizens at Capital Hill have enriched themselves greatly by insider trading. In my opinion these are simple thieves who using a wage provided by the American citizen to do the work of the country have squandered that task away because they function from a looter philosophy that they inherited from this infection of socialism they were raised on in our public schools, and media culture. These con artists ran for office under the premise and promise to uphold the United States Constitution, but once there show the weakness of their inner philosophies, and quickly become common looters of the public treasury. It is because of these types of people of poor quality that communism will never work and the socialism that leads to total communism slowly erodes away the philosophy of every nation with the plague of altruism. Because the human being from even the first moments of life is concerned with its own survival, and an economy that is built upon self-interest will thus be stronger because it was built by people who care for themselves. Those who attempt to pretend that their life has value because of self-sacrifice are fools who lack real life experience as to the motives of mankind.

Beware of the altruistic prophet, the looter of luxury who pretends that they are there to help. They only care to take from you to gain what they lack the ability to make for themselves. A good example of this is Michelle Obama, the current first lady. She is one of those altruistic prophets who says one thing, but does another. A poor quality mind is always easy to spot in such people who believe they are better than they are because the value they apply is derived from what they have managed to loot from public money.
For some insight into this let’s have a look at the first ladys behavior in the White House, of which we all fund with our taxes. Michelle Obama has more personal staff than any first lady in history. She currently has 22 personal staff to care for her every need and fantasy. Here they are and while reading them, consider what you learned in that first video.
Michele Obama’s personal staff:
One.. $172,200 – Sher, Susan (Chief Of Staff)
For the First Lady)
Fourteen.. $57,500 – Lewis, Dana M. (Special Assistant and Personal Aide to the First Lady)
Fifteen… $52,500 – Mustaphi, Semonti M. (Associate Director and Deputy Press Secretary To The First Lady)
Sixteen.. $50,000 – Jarvis, Kristen E. (Special Assistant for Scheduling and Traveling Aide To The First Lady)
Seventeen.. $45,000 – Lechtenberg, Tyler A. (Associate Director of Correspondence For The First Lady)
Eighteen.. $43,000 – Tubman, Samanth a (Deputy Associate Director, Social Office)
Nineteen.. $40,000 – Boswell, Joseph J. (Executive Assistant to the Chief Of Staff to the First Lady)
Twenty.. $36,000 – Armbruster, Sally M. (Staff Assistant to the Social Secretary)
Twenty-One… $35,000 – Bookey, Natalie (Staff Assistant)
Twenty-Two.. $35,000 – Jackson, Deilia A. (Deputy Associate Director of Correspondence for the First Lady)
(total $1,591,200 in annual salaries)
The looters of our American philosophy wish to strip away our religion and replace it with one of their own design so that they can control us, so that we are easy to steal from. They strip away our philosophy so that they can replace it with their own altruistic example so that we will give up our money to their cause and not cast our eyes in their direction and discard those politicians as useless. As long as they convince us to think in fashions of sacrifice, we will give our wealth to them so they can spend $447.39 on luxurious foods at a New York hotel for an afternoon snack. The looters do this because they are thieves who have no value for the funds they stole, because stealing it is easy. They provide no service that couldnt be done by you dear reader. But they have stolen your philosophy from you in public education, so you cannot reason for yourself the folly of your ways. They have stolen from you a religion, so that you look to politicians who will spend $150 on Iranian Osetra Caviar as the provider of both religion and philosophy. They will sell to you their image as the prophets for the prices of the taxes that come out of your hard-earned check.

Looters do not have your interest in mind. They simply wish to give you a job to keep you happy and voting in their direction. They wish to hit that magic number of 50% by using your greed against you for their gain. You see, they do not believe in altruism themselves. Not in the least. They wish you to believe it so that they can control you. So you will take your government job, make twice what is made in the market controlled private sector, and you will trade away your freedom for comfort and a vote for their politicians so they can maintain their power base as prophets when in reality they are simply clowns. Want more proof? Look at these connections of nepotism among the political elite centering on the new green initiative. This is just a fraction of what is really going on.
The Tonopah Solar Company in Harry Reid’s Nevada is getting a $737 million loan from Obama’s DOE.
The project will produce a 110 megawatt power system and employ 45 permanent workers.
That costs U.S. Taxpayers just $16 million per job.
One of the investment partners in this endeavor is Pacific Corporate Group (PCG).
The PCG executive director is Ron Pelosi who is the brother to Nancy’s husband.
Yes, they think youre stupid because they stole from you the ability to think. They did this by pilfering American philosophy which can be found in the work of The Federalist Papers and authors John Locke and Ayn Rand. The real criminals are not these politician looters; it is those who do not take advantage of the book store down the road, the television on the History Channel, C-Span, and Discovery Channels. It is those who forgo talk radio in favor of the sweet melody of social propaganda. (Listen to Lady Ga Ga and gawk at her outrageous outfits. She is selling you a philosophy and you accept it with your ears and the glitter of her fashion. She is designed to control your philosophy by album producers who wish to make a profit. The producers and agents of her songs are driven by self-interest, not gay rights, or political splendor. They are driven by self-interest disguised as altruism.)

Working philosophies and religions are out there for your use dear reader, and when you allow the looters to not only rob you of your wealth but of your mind too, you have committed a sin against your legacy.
When death finds you, and you lay in your casket and the small gathering of your family and friends show up to say a few nice words on your behalf, without a strong philosophy they will only have to say that you were a good person who did what people told you to do. You held a government job, paid your bills, and voted for altruistic political candidates who brought joy to the world. But your departed soul and a few wise men and women will know the truth, that you perpetuated tyranny by assisting the looters of America into a crime against mankind that made kings of the weak and victims of the strong.

The death Im speaking of is not you dear reader, for you are only a cell in the greater body that is sick. The body I speak of that resides in the mentioned casket is America. A country that let its philosophy be stripped away from it so that it could become sick and die from within. For anyone who studies sickness knows that for a virus to kill a life, it must destroy first the bodys immune system, and for a country, that immune system is its religion and its philosophy. Thats why both must be discussed often, so that the body can fight off the diseases of looters which seek to plague it. And fear not, philosophy does not need to be laborious and out of your reach. I have went to considerable effort to make philosophy obtainable for a public that are current victims of a looter ruling class, so that those villains might find themselves shortly extinct.
Stay tuned for much, much more.
Discovery Dublin Part 3

Tuesday, Dec 6, 2011:
Do you know that 4 major museums in Ireland (3 are in Dublin) are free? Yeahyou dont have to pay for admission fee. I know that there are also some free museum in other country as well. However, some are really funny. I was in New York city few years ago and wanted to go to the MET. I met one guy who told my friend and me that the MET admission fee is free. Both of us were surprised and asked him whether it is really free. He said it is actually free but the listed price is the recommended amount. If you give less than the listed amount at the counter, they will not say anything! Totally new to me!!!
Ok, lets get back to my Dublin tour. Today, my friend wanted to go to National Museum: Archeology. We went with Luas and then took the 128 bus with city centre fare from Conolly station to the national museum. The place is not so big but we spent quite some time inside. When we were there, there was a group of school kids who came to visit the museum. They had a guided tour in Irish language. So we were not able to be free riders…ha ha ha But I like it though that they try to keep their tradition and language.

After the archeology museum, we walked to the National Gallery. If you come out from the archeology museum and the museum is at your back, you should take a right turn and walk to the National Gallery. However, we followed our beloved Google map! We turned left and took the longer walk (we realized this later).
The National Gallery is not so impressive. They are partially (or perhaps mainly) renovated. So we could not see many well-known painting. After an hour, we were done with the gallery. So we decided to walk back to Grafton street and did our favorite activity, Shopping!
As part of my friends to see&do list, we went to Butler Chocolate Café. We both ordered hot chocolate with marshmallow. I knowit is fat and sweet but I just wanted to try. I was a bit disappointed because it was too sweet and the place was too crowded. If you love sweet stuff, maybe it is for you! One thing I noticed is when you order any drink there, you will be asked to choose a truffle. However, I was not asked and he immediately gave one truffle, which was in foil wrapper, not like the truffles which they show in the glass counter as he asked other customers to choose from. I did not know why and I did not want to make it a big deal. So for me, I would probably not go to this place again soon.
Ben Dibble and President Obama: Using the Delphi Technique to destroy ATLAS

What does the President of the United States have in common with the president of your local school board? Well, both positions along with politicians at all levels in between use the Delphi Technique to create public consensus. This is how the conditions which are proving the great novel Atlas Shrugged true has come about. To learn the specifics of The Delphi Technique I have an entire article on it here:
http://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2010/12/29/the-delphi-technique-how-it-works/

The Delphi Technique is the creation of Saul Alinsky and is commonly used by community organizers derived from the written work by that known radical. This is why Obama is so good at it. President Obama as a lawyer has learned the very dangerous game of using The Delphi Technique to create a consensus in public opinion as he tests the waters in violating the Constitution bypassing congress to pass new laws. In the following clip you can see that prior to his executive orders as he tested the waters to build consensus among his political base prior to taking the unconstitutional actions against congress. What hes doing is using the Delphi Technique to build support in mass by using the falsehood of a mythical democracy to use mass to defeat the Constitutional Republic that is the United States.

In my home school district of Lakota, which has seen three levy failures from a school system of over $160 million dollars a year in budget costs and going upward, my community has said no to more taxes to cover the out-of-control spending going on at the school. In fact it was this very morning that I gave an interview to the Cincinnati Enquirer about this very issue since the school has put in place a new president who is using The Delphi Technique to build support for yet another levy attempt in 2012. The portion of my interview which I gave said this in response: But Rich Hoffman, leader of the opposition group that opposed all three Lakota levies, dismissed the boards latest move.

This is just another spin for trying to manipulate the public. If Lakota wants to be sensitive to the publics needs, they need to present to their teachers union a proposal to reduce their labor costs by 5% instead of asking the tax payers to pay even more, Hoffman said.
You can see the whole article here:
http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20120110/NEWS0102/301100102/Lakota-board-president-Fresh-start-order
This new school board put Julie Shaffer as second in command who worked on the previous levy attempts. So there isnt any attempt by this body of government to cut their costs. They are going into 2012 with full intention to ignore the votes of the previous levy attempts and go for a forth attempt to pass higher taxes and they are using the Delphi Technique to do it. Below is the press release and speech given by the new School Board President Ben Dibble. Study the content carefully. Its the Delphi Technique.

LAKOTA SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT BEN DIBBLE / REMARKS DURING JAN. 9, 2012, SCHOOL BOARD MEETING:
This is my first regular meeting as Board President. Id like to thank my fellow board members for having confidence in me — for electing me president. I will do my best to make you proud that you elected me.
Id like to take a few moments to reflect on where the School District stands, where its headed, and most of all, the School Boards role in all of this.
First, we all know that the education our students get and the achievements theyve made are spectacular. Academically, our students are literally second to none. We have test scores to prove that. In 2011, we were the top district among 600 in Ohio in student achievement. So to our teachers and administrators, and most of all to our students, great job. I am proud of you, and I know the rest of the Board is proud as well.
But we all know Lakota faces great challenges. And some of them may be self-inflicted. We do not have sufficient support from our community. Three consecutive times, our tax levies have failed. We have theories about why thousands of people have voted against our levies. Were taking steps to find out for sure whats wrong, including a survey that will go out in the next week or so. And were planning many other opportunities in the next few months to listen to the community and gain feedback.
But before I go further, lets acknowledge that the School Board could be part of the reason for our levy failures. During the last couple years, the School Board has projected an image of divisiveness that we werent always working toward the goal of providing the best possible education at the lowest cost. Starting tonight, that needs to change. The School Board has an opportunity for a new beginning a fresh start. And I ask my fellow Board members to leave behind the ways weve done things in the past and take a new approach. Doing things the same old way will lead us down the same path that has resulted in three levy failures. Our credibility and communication with the community needs to improve.

As president, I will lead this board with these four things in mind:
1) To be open with the community. That means making sure appropriate School Board discussions are held in public — that School Board actions are clearly explained — and making sure the administration is open with the community as well.
2) To seek feedback from a cross section of the community, not just the folks we think will agree with us.
3) To take actions always with the best interests of our students in mind, not our personal interests.

4) To treat fellow board members with respect, even when we disagree.

The School Board is a legislative body. That means disagreements are inevitable. The community needs to recognize that disagreement is part of the process. Each board member needs to identify when its important to stand his or her ground on a key issue and when its important to compromise.
We have a new board member and a new vice president Julie Shaffer. And Id like to put her on the spot for a moment to put a special burden on her shoulders. I encourage her to help change the way this board is perceived. This board cannot continue to do things the way it has done them and expect the community to support us. Please help us change, Julie. You have the benefit of having fresh viewpoints. Please know that I welcome your input.

Julie is not the only new leader in Lakota. Many of our top administrators are new as well, including Superintendent Karen Mantia, Treasurer Jenni Logan and human resources director Diane Brunsman. I am impressed with their work. They are trying to steer things in a new direction. The School Board needs to support them. So Id like to put a special burden on Dr. Mantia and her entire Executive Team as well: When the School Board doesnt live up to the standards you expect, let us know. We need you to speak openly. You have experience in public education that we dont have.
And I put a special burden on the community. I ask the community to wipe away any perceptions about the School Board and administration that might be outdated. With new board leadership and new administration, things are changing. Give us a chance.
Even the way were dealing with the required $9 million in cuts is refreshing. Yes, Dr. Mantia and her Executive Team are working to identity where the cuts will be made. The results will be painful. But the administration will not just be recommending across the board cuts to the School Board, then announcing that their work is finished. The administration is working to consolidate, streamline and modernize our educational system — to give the community hope that things can get better — to modernize the curriculum to better meet the needs of our students, preparing them for their lives and careers beyond Lakota.
In a way, this is a honeymoon period for the School Board and Administration. Together, the School Board and Administration are learning and becoming strong, effective partners. I have faith that the community will realize that this new leadership partnership deserves its trust and support.
With those thoughts in mind, lets move on to our agenda items.
So you might be asking how did Ben Dibble the little ol school board president of Lakota learn the same techniques as those used by President Obama? Every year in November the OSBA (OHIO SCHOOL BOARD ASSOCIATION) has a convention in Columbus where they teach school board members how to employee techniques in passing school levies in communities, its called LEVY UNIVERSITY. Ben and all the rest of the Lakota School Board members are invited to attend the event and it is there that they learn the Delphi Technique. They may not call it that by name now, I believe they call it consensus building or some variation of the term, but the technique is the same no matter what name you call it.

It is the Delphi Technique that allows President Obama to circumvent the U.S. Constitution and it is the Delphi Technique that allows school boards to pretend a public did not vote against their agenda. The key is always in how these parties treat a vote. When a vote is taken and the results are ignored you can know that the aggressor is looking to the Delphi Technique to whittle away at public perception so the aggressor can sell to the public the goal of that aggressor to vote their way. Its called consensus building and its used at all levels of government including your school board. And as long as you the voter allow it to continue by allowing yourself to be manipulated by the Delphi Technique it will continue to be used as a strategy to ruin our republic.
Archeology Cake

You’re probably wondering what the heck an “Archeology Cake” is. I was also intrigued when I was first approached to bake this project. One of the local schools cooked up this idea- to have a cake represent the different layers of earth/soil and bury various “artifacts” into the cake. The students would then receive a piece of “Earth”/cake, and dig away like little archeologists to uncover the artifacts. That’s right- these kids not only get to dig through cake with their hands, they get to eat it too! Lucky. I was provided the artifacts prior to baking, and I’ll admit to laughing when I saw them. It’s not too often I bake cakes with dinosaur bones and dominoes in them.
Fact: Dominoes are as old as dinosaurs.
The actual cake needed to be 3 layers- each a different type of cake. Like I mentioned before, each layer is supposed to be a different layer of soil/dirt. I decided to go with a spice cake as the top layer, followed by red velvet, and finally chocolate as a base. I wasn’t given any specific details on what colors the layers should be or if they should accurately represent layers of the Earth, but I’m a nerd so I had to have some order and that seemed like a natural progression.
Why hello there triceratop.
So we have 3 layers of delicious cake with toys buried in them, held together with creamy frosting. Like I said before…these kids are lucky. The cake itself wasn’t supposed to be frosted, but I went ahead and added a top layer. I chopped up some caramel to make it look like rocks (I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with these kids and the inevitable sugar high this cake will bring). I was pleased with the final product- I was little concerned because there were a lot of artifacts to fit in, but by golly I got them all in there!
Oh look- somebody already started digging!
I’m slightly jealous my teachers never thought to do this.
I am excited for the new energy of this year; can you feel the shift? The new focus on things possible? With our turn in the elliptical orbit we have the ability to radically change our perceptions, actions and outcomes. This is the year to fully focus on your personal choices to further enhance your present situations. With new found personal responsibility it will add to our ability as a global nation to be united in thought.
Not everyone feels this way. Did you know there is a guy in Sedona AZ., who is planning on jumping through some portal on Bell Rock on the 21st of December to stop the earth from going through a black hole? Yep, literally falling to his death. He feels it is his job and duty to do this; his soul has been called. Really hope this goes well for him. At least he’s not asking for a long string of people to join him. It is totally amazing to me the power of the suggestion, fear, hyperbole, the media, unbelievable hype, not to mention the money maker 2012 conjures. And when December 21st comes and goes, there will be another story of fear propagated to generate a new group of millionaires. I know, I know, I sound cynical. I’m not, just a realist. The earth’s been on this orbit for a ga-jillion years and it’s not going anywhere soon. In fact, John Major Jenkins, who has written and studied extensively about the Mayan calendar has said one of the greatest possible events of 12/21/12, is nothing happens. It’s a ‘non’ event.
That’s really more in my line of thinking; no cataclysms, no ET’s coming to scoop us away, (though I definitely believe in Universal life and subsequent visitations) no ET invasions, no ascension. Realize that will really tweak a few people who have bought and paid for the New Age thought of ascension, however I’m not one of them. I have been on this planet so many times I believe in the longevity of earth, the continuance of the seasons, our orbit in the horizons. I believe we are definitely waking up to our greater humanity and consciousness but even Nostradamus, the great prognosticator, felt we weren’t going into the Golden Age till 2250. But it is a momentous year this 2012; the earth shifted its location in the elliptical orbit, the Mayan calendar is being prepared for the next 5000 year cycle and people around the planet are taking strong steps to change the repression and manipulation from centuries of abuse.
So what does this year have in store for us? Can anyone really say? Even the weather people can’t get it right for a week so where in here do I think I can? I love going out on a limb -the edge – to see if I can…… I’m going to share my perception and view; December 31st of this year will reveal if I’m right or not or even close. Here goes:
2012:
Entertainment/TV/Movies: We are moving further into ‘dumb-ing down’ extremes in the media and social entertainment. Whatever is felt will make money. TV productions, series, are sinking into shear stupidity and repetition. The pendulum is swinging more to the left with social views and comments of inane nothingness. Reality shows will continue to produce ridiculous stories of people no one knows or cares about. Magazines reflect the same images. Remember Bruce Springsteen’s song “There was fifty-seven channels and nothin’ on?” Only now there are hundreds. Lots of repeats for movie producers with a few great stories coming through, though most of those will be from independent producers, writers, directors and foreigners. That’s where the action will be; literally off-screen. Watch for those via the internet and independent theaters. You will find some gems worth your time; the rest can go in the dumpster. And those Kardasians? They’ve had their three minutes of fame; their audience is tired of the hyperbole and insipid triviality, their faces begin to fade into the woodwork.
News/Media: The news media being owned by literally five corporations, is nothing more than a reflection of itself, (the pro’s/con’s, the right/left, conservative/liberal, Democrat/Republican, Gay/Straight etc) on a daily basis. This year will only mirror to the viewer, opposite perspectives on the same coin, just presented differently. It will be more apparent being such a pivotal time with the elections upon us. The jargon, the pundits and the political rallying of individual opinions put out like messages from God, will continue to burn through the screens of household televisions. In listening, the viewer will see only too clearly the level and lack of depth given in the messages; where is the real truth? Who is behind the scenes? Who is paying whom for what? The corporate media maintains this stance and precarious balance 1. to make money, 2. to make more money, 3. to make even larger sums, and gives the division and derision alive to keep us polarized. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46bBWBG9r2o&feature=related (Don Henley’s ‘Dirty Laundry’ is extremely appropriate now as it was in the 80′s). However there is a silver lining in here. More will be revealed around the globe of insiders, political alignments, cabals, power, greed, energy suppression, etc from outside sources. Main stream media will have to hop on the bandwagon to keep up or look completely inept. This is a fabulous turning point. This gives credence to explore new resources of information, the key is discernment in all matters.
Music: There are many clever and talented musicians in the world though many of those never see the light of fame and fortune. Seek again independent labels, videos, clubs as you will find some amazing talent jump out at you. I feel we’re going to see some stupendous talent showing up on the radar. Avoid the highly glossed and produced images as they have been bought and paid for; music industry is one big marketing machine, the art of the music itself has been lost. Have you ever wondered where and how what music is played repeatedly? It’s cash paid for cementing whomever in our consciousness. Again, it’s not necessarily about talent. Find local musicians you can get behind; support their dreams as you receive the melodious benefits.
Fashion: The trends this year will be classic; the tried and true that work from decade to decade. Of course there will be those who go to extremes for flash and dance, however the consumer will seek what works best for lifestyle and career. The more we as consumers support comfort combined with positive work ethic, style and ease, the better the designers will become. A melding of styles will appear; 60′s with 80′s, 90′s with ‘now’, not all overly complimentary to different body types. There is a new designer, a young gal who has the potential to really make it big here in the US speaks to a new generation through her innovative ideas matched to great price points. Make this your year to clean out your closets and discover the colors and fabrics that make you feel comfortable, cozy and glamorous.
Art: I feel we will be seeing paintings and works buried for decades surfacing. It could be from a number of sources, art smugglers being caught, Nazi requisitions discovered, donations from private sources or a combination of all. I feel the art world is going to be upside down with jubilant excitement about the substantive impact on collections around the globe. Create your own artistic endeavors for 2012, even if it is joining a local art group or going to gallery exhibits.
Archeology: Though money is still a challenge for many historical preservation sites around the globe, archeology continues to unearth and discover interesting and amazing facts which will turn the excepted timeline on its ear. From Egypt, northern Africa, central America to European Russia as well as here in the U.S. there are finds surfacing with the possibility to reshape our thinking. Notably some will find there way to literature, however you as the seeker will have to explore alternative sources for information. It’s there to be found, figuratively and literally.
Food: The battle of GMO’s is going to continue as science and health and Big Agribusiness do the dance for supremacy. Fortunately in time the public will have their say as diet, health and lifestyle take precedence. The public will continue to demand better standards as more incidents of food poisoning occur primarily around the meat and poultry industry. The organic industry will continue to expand gaining political support as more consumers purchase for health reasons combined with flavor. Globally, I do see more endeavors being created to support the nations of Africa and similar third-world countries; more organizations will step up to be part of the change: there will be significant food/nutrition/farming mobilization in the next several years for impoverished nations on a positive level. Be wary and mindful of where food is being produced. To be smart, buy as local as possible in combination with buying foods in season. Read labels. Support your local organic farmers; make a difference on the planet.
Health: Unfortunately I feel the US is continuing its decline into disease and illness. A combination package of poor eating habits, lack of exercise, rise in obesity, medications and rampant viruses have created a caldron of unhealthy lifestyles and lives. The culture of getting something for nothing also prevails; taking medications to ward off disease instead of changing habits and lifestyle choices. Too many people want it easy (instant gratification) creating excuses for not making better decisions. Our system will continue to be heavily burdened with rising costs, over stressed practitioners, and Big Pharma throwing its weight in congress and the business structure. Instead, make this your year for life altering personal changes which impact decades into the future. Act now for better longevity and happiness. Get into a fitness program which supports your goals and loves; ie, hiking, rock climbing, skating, kayaking, dancing, speed walking, skiing, running, cross-training, biking, swimming, yoga etc.
Geology/Solar Flares/Environment/Weather: If computers and meteorologists have difficulties….I feel we’re in for an easier year this year with nothing as catastrophic as Japan’s earthquake and subsequent tsunami, happening at such great proportions. Now of course I am talking about natural events, not ones contrived through HARPP and other nasty devices of destruction; those are extremely difficult to monitor other than just before the event, though I feel there will be several of those coming to pass on smaller scales. (Those are about control, dominance and power). I am referring instead to mother earth and her natural cycles as she tries to maintain balance with so much destruction on her surface reaching into her subterranean levels. My areas of focus are on: the northwest in the US, primarily WA. I feel we are going to feel some earthquakes here in this region, though nothing of destructive magnitude as in 1980, primarily around St Helens and possibly off the coast reaching down into Oregon. Also Indonesia, around the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and off the southern and western side of India are possible sites for tremors resulting in larger than normal waves and possible destruction of buildings. Weather is going to be more apparently different as patterns evolve and change; cold reaching longer and deeper, drought stretching in areas, more severe winds in unlikely places. The likelihood of a pole shift, which has been predicted for years is not imminent. There have been three pole shifts in 1000,000 years, the last one occurring 12,000 BCE. I feel it’s safe to say, it’s not going to happen this year or the next. I do feel though we are going to have corrections to the poles, altering the locations in small degrees, having less impact on a populated planet. These will happen over the course of the next three to four years. Man’ s impact has been substantial, yet the earth is evolving and changing. What is reported is not necessarily the truth. Look to see more fact finding missions seeking real answers based on evidence rather than emotional button pushing and political pandering. Solar flares will be slightly up from 2011, impacting the weather patterns marginally, but the greater impact will be the electromagnetic imbalance felt from surges, triggering more emotional immediacy and agitation on the human level.
Energy: This bit right here – energy- is the ‘screw’ that is either too loose or tightened too stringently around the globe. Power and control; control and power. If everyone had access to healthy and inexpensive energy the world would be a different place. Those in power who control the purse strings and eradicate those who oppose them, are not willingly going to give over the financial resources which motivate and drive their greed. So in the meantime there is still a struggle for balance. Innovation is going to drive the change; new energy which is really old energy, is going to finally come to the surface may have to go inert (hopefully the irony is not lost) or incognito while awareness is generated throughout the populace. It’s the people who will change the way of the status quo. It is us who will demand the positive change. More people will be ‘energized’ (love the irony on this) to stand up, ask questions and demand what is needed to keep their loved ones, fed, warm and safe along with the ability for clean, reliable, efficient, transportation. Inexpensive energy; it is available, here; we have to ask for it and keep demanding till it arrives. The shifts will be gradual however they are in motion now. Watch how certain events appear a particular ‘way’ and then in a short period of time the players make radical changes to their opinions and support. This is because the movement of ‘energy’ has become too strong to resist the rising adjustment. It will take until 2015 and up to 2020 for the energy change-over to be felt, however forward motion is a very real positive flow impacting the globe.
Politics: Don’t we love and hate politics particularly as they don’t really change; the status quo is the same no matter who’s in power. The best part of Obama’s term in office, is through his interim, more people across the country have become involved. Not since the 60′s and 70′s have we seen this many people galvanized, taking active stances for change. I think it’s brilliantly awesome. Do I believe in what he’s preaching? No. However I love the fact people are now truly thinking about what’s at stake for the future – one world dominance- order, or freedom for individuals around the globe. Distinctly two different directions. This year is hugely pivotal for this reason. I feel the Mayans were possibly suggesting in the end of their calendar, ‘consciousness and involvement’ or destruction into major world control. That’s how I see the destructive nature of 2012; allowing for ONE WORLD DOMINANCE. Do I actually see this happening? Thank the universe – NO! However we need to be aware of the behind-the-scenes activities to be able to change them. We all have a distinctly active role to play; that’s why we have chosen to be here now. Change literally thousands of years of hierarchy or allow it to encompass us like a tsunami. Our choice. Fortunately I feel there are enough open, like-minded actively conscious participants around the planet, it’s not going to happen. The key is awareness, discernment, intuitive guidance and listening with your heart to what is real and what is utter bullshit. From the Big Picture, Obama arrived to instigate change; we have to decide which probability we want to create. As for the election here in the states? It’s a goat-rope for sure. And for the next ten and a half months we are lucky enough to be exposed to high radiation political pundits and over-the-top advertising; time for the SPF 100 to counter balance the damage. Who’s going to win? I truly believe Obama is a one term president. We are going to elect a more moderate, in-the-middle-kind-of-guy who creates balance and equilibrium. I believe we are not out of the weeds yet, but I feel we are going to recognize we need more conservative financial decisions balanced with moderate and more liberal social agendas; ie, *balancing the budget coupled with gay marriage. *Restricting term limits and spending, equal to keeping abortion rights and environmentally sound measures. *Eliminating overhead and departments giving states more independence and say in the management of their environment. *Opening new pathways to energy creation and utilization on US soil. Back in the 70′s Ruth Montgomery, a well known author and channel, wrote several predictions, most of which have come true, with several exclusions. One was a pole shift in and around 2000. The other was a ‘walk-in’ President. A walk-in, for those who are new to this term is a soul who chooses to trade places with another soul, allowing the new participant to take over their human role so as to positively and significantly change the outcome of events and situations. I’ve been waiting for such a person. She said it would be someone we would recognize his familiar face though his views through time will change and be more spiritual, moderate and open pathways of peace globally. He was to be here with the first election of the new millenia. Didn’t happen in Bush Jr. Didn’t happen with Obama. Both were bought and paid for. Are we ready for such a soul to arrive and make gigantic changes? Absolutely. I have felt Ron Paul is the reincarnation of Thomas Jefferson; I love this!! However will enough of the population vote for his message of transformation? I really believe he is here as a catalyst for significant departure from the traditional view, and thank God for this!! It is desperately needed, however I’m not feeling the final victory even though I would love to say it’s real; he is my vote for the presidential office. Hopefully Ron Paul will be in the inner sanctums of D.C. when the dust has settled. The race will be heated, controversial and mean-spirited as well as exceptionally close, however I still am going with the belief Obama will lose and slink away into obscurity for awhile. Who’s it going to be? Is the ‘walk-in’ visible? From my perspective, not yet. I don’t see him, however it doesn’t exclude positive people in power who truly want to make a difference as there are those over the last several years who have surfaced rising to the call for liberty. The race is not over, however the Presidential look and sound will prevail as well as a moderate voice for choice. That choice is Mitt Romney; I feel he will be signed in in January of 2013. The mud-slinging will be heavily weighted against his religion. Isn’t that what this country was founded upon? Religious freedom? Please stay interested, read and dig deeply into informatin. It is the political paradigm of ‘now’; until it slowly changes it is what is, till we create something new.
Economy: I wish I could equivalently say we are out of the weeds economically, however, I don’t feel it in my soul. We’re on a continual merry-go-round presently while the powers-that-be pull the purse strings. Someone out there is making billions through these trying times and it’s not you or me. The rise and fall of world economies is not stable this year or even into next, however there will be a firming and soundness to industries which will set the ground work for the new world view economy. From the larger picture, there will be growth in energy, gold and minerals, and on the smaller scale, private local businesses are finally going to be able to sink their teeth in and find consistency thus sustaining and stabilizing growth and jobs. It will be people’s backbone and ingenuity that moves the ball and keeps the pendulum swinging circularly. Invest in people and ideas – globally and locally – listening through intuitive discernment as to where to best place your time and money
Relationships: Our familiar, personal and community relationships will mirror the outward goings-on of world issues on every scale. It’s that simple. When the government is polarized, the energy frequency of that emotional hook-up has the potential to materialize in your relationships. Be aware of why you are feeling agitated and anxious. Recognize the threads pulling you into that particular polarized fulcrum; it’s in the recognition which enables you to shift your reactions to ‘responses’. This year there is a tendency within our relationships to feel more volatile juxtaposed to feeling overly sensitive. The anger surfacing is a catalyst for movement, a stimulator and focus-finder if you utilize the emotions in the right direction. I also feel for those who have been honestly seeking a personal love-centered relationship, will find the one they having been dreaming. The key is to ‘be-the-one-you-want-to-fall-in-love-with’ allowing this soul to shine forth and materialize. These individuals who arrive in your life will look different and show a new way of perceiving life; it will be fun, perplexing and exciting. Marriage will continue to be 50%; 50% of couples staying in marriages, 50% choosing to divorce. We’re in a continual state of flux as we learn to reinvent a better vision of male/female/heart centered relationships.
This is another exciting year; we are all alive and gathered on this one small planet in the corner of the Universe. Make the most of it!!
Cosmic sunshine to you.

Chimu -- Thousand Year Old Pots and Pans

Chimu, a still life of pre-Columbian pottery of the Moche people of Trujillo, Peru, is available through OC Designer Source.
Agatha Christie, in her 1951 novel, They Came to Baghdad, described life being made up of ordinary things, used by ordinary people. “This,” she wrote, “is what mattered.”
Spoken by a genius writer married to an archaeologist.
